Pen to Paper Challange-Pear Tree Greetings

It's been a busy month for us in the Stevens household, and while I had hoped to do it sooner, I'm glad I was reminded about how important it is to keep in touch with my family. So I decided to take the Pen to Paper Challenge as a part of my "job" as a Pearista for Pear Tree Greetings and write my loved ones a note letting them know I'm thinking of them. Thanks to Pear Tree Greetings, I'm learning the importance and the power of staying connected with those I care about-they have the best selection on all things paper, be it Christmas cards, birth announcements, or thank you notes!

My first note that I wrote was to my oldest brother, his wife, and my nephew. They recently found out they are expecting a new baby, and I had to send my congratulations! I'm so excited to meet my new neice or nephew! All my parents grandchildren are boys, and while we would love another boy so very much I think we are secretly hoping for a little girl to spoil! Congratulations big brother!

I also wrote a note to my grandmother. I missed our visit with her on our last trip to MI and my son reminds me all the time how he misses his great grandma! So I took the opportunity to touch base with her. She is living alone, and she is a very spry and spunky 80 year old who is full of life! I know she'll appreciate a good old fashion snail mail letter saying that we are thinking of her!

My last letter today was to my next oldest brother and his girlfriend. My brother moved to Florida last year, and has made a wonderful life for himself there, but I miss  him terribly! We will see him next month when he flies in to MI so we can meet the special woman in his life, I can't wait!! I know we will get along fabulously :D

I'm so glad I took the time to write these notes. There is something special about a hand written letter I think. We seem to forget that in the times of the internet and email. I really think it lets someone know that you thought enough of them to sit down and pick out a pretty card to write them a note, even if it is just to say hello! I don't get them often myself, but when I do, it's always the first piece of mail that I open and it always puts a smile on my face.

What a fun challenge! I always get such satisfaction when I finish a batch of thank you notes, and there is nothing more fun than receiving a letter or card instead of junk mail.
