Whew! What a whirlwind week I've had! I made it safely to TX last week to help my parents prepare to come back to their hometown in MI so my mom can get better help in caring for my dad who has had several strokes.
It was very hard to see my dad that way, and I lost it a few times. But every day he gets stronger and stronger, and I"m so amazed at how well he is doing. He still has a long long road of recovery, and I know he will never the same way he was before his strokes, but he will always be my dad and I"m so proud of him. And seeing the way my mom has been caring for him, it's so beautiful (yet so sad)
We're having a benefit in their honor in their hometown in MI in two weeks, to raise money for medical bills as they have no insurance and no income other than my dads social security.
If you know of any business in MI that might be willing to donate an item for auction that I can pick up on my way there, please contact me or leave a comment on this post!
The kindness of strangers that I've felt through this whole ordeal has been overwhelming but so wonderful. I knew my dad was well loved in the community but I didn't know to this extent. I'm so proud of my dad and am so unbelievably grateful for all the help that has been coming in. There just aren't enough ways to say thank you to my friends, family, and to the complete strangers out there who have felt led to help.

Oh, my mom and sister and I took an hour to be "tourists" while we were there just to take a break, here are a few pics from TX!

I am very glad to be back home, but I can't wait for the Auction in MI... I am so grateful for the people who are willing to help us!
